Most business phone comparison sites are written by marketers reading other comparison sites. This one is written by someone who ports numbers, registers 911 addresses, and watches rate-center inventory run out — and that difference is the entire reason it exists.

Myroslav founded VoIPMetrics after years of running the unglamorous end of business telephony: number porting, rate-center inventory, E911 registration, and the carrier operations that decide whether a switch goes smoothly or badly.
That work is why this site can explain porting, number inventory and 911 from the inside rather than by repeating other websites. Where a metro guide gives a local figure that has not yet been checked against carrier records, it is marked preliminary.
He also operates Comexcel, a Fort Lauderdale carrier. That is precisely why Comexcel is never ranked or recommended anywhere on this site. The conflict is real, so it is kept out of every ranking rather than disclosed away; its call measurements are published only on the measurements page, with that disclosure.
What we actually do differently
Three things. We measure call quality ourselves rather than repeating vendor uptime claims, using the same public standard (ITU-T G.107) on every provider, and we publish dashes until a measurement actually exists.
We publish local facts — which area codes serve a market, how transfers from local carriers typically go, how 911 registration works in a given county — because we know that work first-hand, and anything not yet checked against carrier records is marked preliminary.
And we name our conflicts and remove them. The carrier our founder operates is never ranked or recommended anywhere on this site. The cleanest way to handle a conflict of interest is not to disclose it more loudly; it is to take it out of the ranking entirely.
